A Little About Me

I dislike being overly personal on the internet for a number of reasons: introvert complex, a lack of professional photos I’d like to get, the normal wariness of potential personal identity stuff being out there, internet creeps…

However, I’m well aware that being personal in some forms is what brings connection with fans and other writers in this community.

So, with my impending publication right around the corner I think it’s time to bite the bullet and at least share a little bit. Here goes…

Hi there!

My name is Daelyn Morgana. I am in my late twenties and prefer the she/her pronouns. As many of my social media sites display: at my core I am an author, witch, and horsewoman. Currently, I live in Western PA with my furbaby Minka whom I adopted in 2020 after the pandemic.

Several years ago I finally decided what I wanted to pursue with college and have since been enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree for Creative Writing, with a focus on Fiction, through Southern New Hampshire University. (Slow and steady wins the race here.) Somehow I also talked myself into a Minor in Graphic Design and Marketing. A year ago I was inducted into the International English Honors Society, Sigma Tau Delta, which is a proud moment for me.

In my free time I like to pursue passions other than writing such as archery, camping, anything outdoorsy, singing, RP style games and activities, and horseback riding. Luckily, I get to immerse myself in the horse world on a fairly regular basis as I work as a barn assistant on a farm.

A couple fun facts about me: My favorite color(s) are black and red. I’m sure that’s not hard to tell based on my brand logo and social media vibes. My favorite horse breed is a Friesian, but Arabians are a close second. I’m about as picky an eater as you can get, and I have never actually broken a bone in my life, somehow, despite the fact I have awful luck.

As an author, I typically write dark fiction that wickedly twists. My go-to genre is fantasy, but I have been known to dabble in light horror, steampunk, and paranormal stuff, too. My coming publication sometime this month will be my third acceptance, though only the second one in print, and really the only one that will be readily available beyond social media. I have plenty of novel WiPs going, though they seem to be at a stand still. In the meantime, I am pursuing literary magazine publications for a few of my polished short stories.

I think that’ll about do it for a look at who I am. Thank you for listening to my ramble and I hope this garners a little more connection with my readers. Hopefully I didn’t bore or scare any of you off!
